The River Ebro passes through unique treasures. One of them is the Sebes and Flix Meander Wildlife Nature Reserve, situated in Ribera d’Ebre region, specifically in Flix. The arrival point and reception centre for visitors is The Mas del Director, where the visit begins with a nature guide specialized in Sebes and Flix Meander Wildlife Nature Reserve.
During the visit we will go into the exuberant woods of the riverside, reedbeds, marshes and olive fields hundreds of years old. We will enjoy a magnificent paradise of biodiversity ideal for lovers of nature and ornithological tourism. The walkways will take us into the middle of the reserve, where the bird observatories, Camargue horses, otters and storks are the main points of interest. Then, we will visit the Towpath Information Centre , in Mas de Pitoia, which recalls the those who towed the river craft, and the boatmen who, with the help of the towrope, used to drag the boats (“llaguts”) laden with cargo along the Ebro.
There is the option to end the activity enjoying an aperitif and beer-tasting of Lutra , the craft beer of the Sebes and Flix Meander Wildlife Nature Reserve. A craft beer that is very rooted to the land thanks to its surprising ingredients: mint and liquorice.
